WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

What started out as a way to pass the time and clear my mind of all those overwhelming new mum thoughts that whizzed around my brain at the most inconvenient times, usually in the early hours of the morning while feeding and soothing my new born baby girl, soon turned into a passionate journey of putting my deepest inner thoughts and feelings down on paper. In the quiet moments of the nursery, surrounded by soft lights and gentle lullabies, I found solace in writing and began sharing my experiences with the world.

Okay... deep breath…and here goes!

Today, I’m sharing my first blog post which I wrote back over a year ago. It’s called “Where It All Began” and honestly, it’s the story I never thought I’d share wider than just a quiet page on my blog, for my eyes only.

What started as a few midnight notes during night feeds has turned into something so much more than I ever imagined — and for the first time, I’m letting it go out into the world (yikes!).

It’s messy and honest and full of love — just like this whole journey into motherhood, writing, and trying to find myself somewhere in the middle.

Maybe I should’ve started with a little intro… but here we are, Day 3 and I’m finally saying ‘Hi’ 👋🏼

I’m Tori, a full-time mummy to a fiercely independent toddler, a fully qualified overthinker (seriously, it’s my superpower), a complete writing novice, an accidental blogger and aspiring author.

Writing started as a way to silence the chaos in my head in the months after my daughter was born, where overwhelming new mum thoughts would take up residence in my brain at silly o'clock in the morning. Somewhere along the way I’ve become obsessed with it!

It’s a slightly terrifying but also really exciting new chapter in my life. So if you're into reading honest thoughts, creative chaos, and the kind of life where a toddler might interrupt at any moment - you’re in good company.

Starting this blog, sharing my writing, and putting myself out there? It’s scary. But I know that future me will be glad I took the leap, even if present me is slightly freaking out.

It’s either bravery or insanity… I can’t decide which!

Putting this out there into the world feels like one of the boldest and most terrifying things I’ve ever done! … with the exception of having a baby of course… oh and fighting breast cancer at 30… that wasn’t exactly sunshine and roses either…ok, so maybe it's not the scariest thing I've ever done, but it's definitely up there with the best of them!

I’ve created this space along with my blog, as my brave little leap into sharing my new found passion for writing with the world.
